Dorje o Vajra

Nel Buddhismo tibetano, molta importanza è riconosciuta al significato della parola Dorje o, Vajra, in sanscrito: il fulmine, o diamante, che distrugge tutti i tipi di ignoranza, essendo esso stesso indistruttibile, principio di liberazione spirituale e mentale sul quale si basa la filosofia tibetana.


Il Dorjee rappresenta il simbolo tantrico in assoluto, al di là di tutti gli opposti, è simbolo di unità e di forza e rappresenta i tre gioielli e l'unione tra il mondo materiale e quello spirituale.


In origine era il simbolo del dio vedico Indra e rappresenta il fulmine ed è il simbolo del principio del maschio imperturbabile, che sta per l'upaya o metodo di percorso in cui ci sono cinque traguardi che simboleggiano i cinque jiyas o conquiste: i Cinque Buddha.

Dorje or Vajra

In Tibetan Buddhism, great importance is given to the meaning of the word Dorje, or Vajra in Sanskrit: the lightning bolt, or diamond, which destroys all forms of ignorance, being itself indestructible, a principle of spiritual and mental liberation on which Tibetan philosophy is based.

The Dorjee represents the absolute tantric symbol, beyond all opposites. It is a symbol of unity and strength, and represents the three jewels and the union between the material and spiritual worlds.

Originally the symbol of the Vedic god Indra, it represents the lightning bolt and the principle of the imperturbable male, which stands for the upaya, or method of the path, in which there are five goals that symbolize the five jiyas, or achievements: the Five Buddhas.
